Throughout the history of Vietnamese art, women have remained a timeless muse — a source of strength, grace, resilience, and inspiration. As Vietnam celebrates Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20th each year, this national occasion offers a heartfelt moment to honor the silent heroines who nurture families, uplift communities, and shape the future of society.

In celebration of this spirit, the Quang San Museum of Art presents its October feature exhibition: “The Vietnamese Woman.” This showcase pays tribute to the enduring contributions and indispensable roles of women — not only as the backbone of family life, but as courageous individuals standing on many frontlines of society.
Spanning works from 1940 to 2021, the exhibition brings together paintings and sculptures across diverse media — from sketches, lacquer, and oil, to bronze sculpture — by some of Vietnam’s most acclaimed artists, including Tô Ngọc Vân, Trần Văn Cẩn, Dương Bích Liên, and Lương Xuân Nhị. Each piece captures a distinct portrayal of womanhood: as nurturing mothers, graceful maidens, diligent workers, or resilient warriors — all embodiments of beauty and fortitude through generations.
“The Vietnamese Woman” is more than a commemorative exhibition — it is a reflection on the evolution of beauty in Vietnamese art: from aesthetic ideals to inner strength, dignity, and sacrifice. Hosted in the intimate and evocative setting of Quang San Museum, this collection invites viewers to connect deeply with the nuanced, powerful image of Vietnamese women as seen through the eyes of artists across decades.
The exhibition runs from October 3rd to October 29th, 2023. We warmly welcome all art lovers and guests to visit, contemplate, and celebrate with us.
